"DUPLICATION CYST OF THE STOMACH: A RARE CAUSE OF GASTRIC OUTLET OBSTRUCTION IN THE CHILDREN"
Abstract
Duplications of gastrointestinal tract are congenital anomalies found in about 0.2% of all children. These include the rare gastric duplication. We present such a cyst in a 14 years old girl with gastric outlet obstruction. She was found to have a noncommunicating antral duplication cyst .The cyst was managed by cystectomy and marsupialization. Microscopically the duplication cyst contained a mucosal, submucosal and muscularis layers. There was no evidence of ulceration or malignant cells. Her recovery was smooth. Etiology, presentation and management of duplication cyst of the stomach is discussed together with a review of literature.Files | ||
