Conjonctival Myiasis- This is an exceptionally rare disease in Iran. We found one case due to . which after removal of the larvea- cleared completely, and the eye became normal.
Two cases of Erythremic Myelosis and one case of Erythroleukemia in Iran Erythremic Myelosis or Di-Guglielmo disease is characterized by generalized and systemic proliferation. selectively affecting erythropoietic apparatus and according to the course; there ure acute and chronic forms. Thus the condition has much in common with leukemia but depends on a proliferation of erythrocytic series instead of the leucocytes. Erythroleukemia is a name which has been given to a somewhat similar condition in which there is combined hyperplasia of the erythropoietic and leukopoietic tissues. We have seen two cases of Erythremic Myelosis for the f irst time in Iran. The first was a woman of 25 years old and the other one a man of 65 years old. Both patients had severe anemia> enlargement of the liver aud spleen together with hemorrhagic manifestations. Blood changes showed the presence of numerous er ythroblasts, and in bone marrow a severe proliferation of the erythroblast series could he seen. Both patients died from a severe renal hemorrhage. A case of erythroleukemia was found in a boy, of 1,5 yea.· with severe anemia, liver and spleen enlargements and fever. examination showed the presence of immature white cells [Ieucob.lasts] and numerous nucleated red cells. In the bone marrow the proliferation of the erythropoietic series wus evident.
Belladona leaves as well as all other studied leaves contains two distinct phosphatase fractions belonging respectively to types II and IIIi the major parts of these enzymes is extraetible by water. It was not possible to extract the non soluble fraction which is solidly retained by the cellular constituents. Phosphatase II does not differ from other phosphatnses of the same type. Whereas phosphatase III is distinetely different from enzymes of the same type of vegetal or animal origins. It is activated by bivalent metallic ions which are specific activators of the alkaline phcspbatnses: Mg-Zn-Ni and Co.
